Privacy Policy

Plain English, no dark patterns. airis OS doesn't collect what it doesn't need.

Draft — under review. This is a placeholder pending owner review, not legal advice. It will be finalized before general availability.

Summary

airis OS is a local-first desktop application. There are no user accounts. There is no telemetry. Your project files and project memory are stored on your own machine. This page explains what limited data we do handle, and why.

What the app collects

The airis OS desktop application does not collect or transmit usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry by default. Your projects, files, and project memory stay on your device unless you explicitly export or share them.

When you connect an AI provider or agent CLI using your own API key (BYOK), your prompts and project context are sent directly to that provider under your account and their terms — not through any airis OS server. We do not see or store that traffic.

What this website collects

The Register your interest form on this site collects the email address you provide, and optionally a name and a short note about your use case. This is used solely to notify you about airis OS availability and updates you've asked for. We don't sell or share this list with third parties.

Standard web server logs (such as IP address and request timestamps) may be retained briefly for security and abuse prevention on airisos.com and its subdomains.

Updates

If you have airis OS installed, the app checks a self-hosted update channel (releases.airisos.dev) to determine whether a newer version is available. This check does not include your project content.

Your API keys

If you configure BYOK, your API key is stored locally on your device by the app. We do not transmit it to airis-operated servers.

Local-first by design

Because airis OS runs on your machine and avoids default telemetry, most of what this policy describes is a matter of architecture, not a promise layered on top of it — there's simply very little for us to collect in the first place.

Changes to this policy

As this policy moves from draft to final, we'll update this page and note the change. Questions can be sent to hello@airisos.com.
